BAYS
 
In computer language this refers to a compartment in your computer case that holds a device that is used in the operation of the computer. There are normally two different sized bays in your computer case. A full size bays that hold the CD-Rom drives, DVD drives, and CDRW's, and half-height bays that are used for floppy drives zip drives and hard disk drives.
 
 
 
BIOS
 
(Basic input/output system) Pronounced "Bye-Os". Built into the motherboard is a chip that contains several programs that allow the computer to perform certain basic functions without the operating system.
