Disk-Read-Only Memory) Similar
to an audio compact disk drive (known as a CD-player) only instead
of reading reading sound from the disk it reads data encoded
onto the compact disk. A single CD can hold up to 650MB of memory
(equivalent to 300,000 pages of data).The drawback to the CD-ROM
drive however is time, a CD-ROM drive is significantly slower
than a Hard-Disk Drive |

CDRW (Compact Disc-Rewriteable),
This is a type of drive that you can
use to "burn" your own CD's. The CDRW drive is a
direct descendant of the CDR Drive (Compact Disk-Recordable),
a drive that allows you to create your own audio or data CD's
but once the information is on the CD it cannot be altered.
The CDRW allows you to place data onto a special CDRW disc
and alter the data even after it has been recorded. A CDRW
disc can be used in most standard CD-ROM drives although older
drives might have trouble reading it.
